Introduction:

My Name is Austin Quinn and I will be spending the spring semester of 2014 interning as a research assistant for Dr. Berger at the Newberry library. I will be exploring Pan Americanism in the 1920s and more specifically the Pan American Union and one of it's chairmen John Barrett.

My first week as a research assistant was a rather uneventful. I discussed the topic more in-depth with Dr. Berger and she has assigned me to begin researching basic background information about the topic. I also got a library card.
